Basketball Wives Season 5 Premiere

The season 5 premiere was a lot different than the "Basketball Wives" we are used to.  Some seem to think it was boring; some seem to think it was depressing. Everyone has their own opinion and here is mine.

The show did revolve around the infamous Evelyn and Chad domestic abuse incident. I think that it was meant to bring awareness and put the focus on something other than drink throwing and insults for once.
Public opinion is the main thing that truly changed all facets of America. There were open letters, petitions, you name it to stop airing this show. Loyal fans threatening to quit watching the show if it didn't stop portraying women of color in a negative light. Shaunie O'Neal and VH1 heard the pleas and decided to air other areas of the women's lives. They gave the public what the masses what they wanted and the masses no longer wanted it. It's like that boyfriend that breaks your heart and you want him back so bad only to reconcile and kick him to the curb a week later. People can be so fickle.
It is unfortunate that Evelyn became the poster child for domestic abuse survivors, it truly is. She is using her platform (reality tv) to be an advocate for women all over the world that are in similar situations; she is simply fulfilling her social responsibility and is receiving backlash for being "boring".
Let's say that they briefly touched on the incident and the show then focused on Evelyn throwing bottles across tables, getting dragged out of restaurants and hurling insults at the other ladies. Then there would have been backlash; she would once again be to blame for an inaccurate portrayal of women of color. She would once again be blamed for getting head butted because of her temper. Damned if you do, damned if you don't.
I commend Evelyn for showing dark, sad periods of her life. It is hard to lose a family member to an ill fated disease and lose your husband due to extramarital affairs and domestic violence; to allow the world to watch you go through it is a whole new ball game.

Moving on.... The show also gave a glimpse in to Tamis struggle with preparing to lose her mother and my heart went out to her. I felt her pain through the screen. I am also looking forward to seeing a new side of Shaunie as well. I really do not have much to say about Suzy and am a little disappointed the new member has not been introduced yet. All in all, the trailer looks promising for the season.

I must also say, I loved Evelyn's earrings while she was giving commentary.

Love and Hip Hop Atlanta Reunion Show Fashion

How many of you lovelies watch Love and Hip Hop: Atlanta? Well, we do and we are curious who watched the reunion? We want to discuss the fashion at the season 2 reunion. While all of the ladies came dressed and ready to show out, we will rate the ladies for their ensembles from top to bottom. This is not a best and worst dressed list, per se, it is just rating our top 5 favorite looks from the reunion. Feel free to comment, whether you agree or disagree with our choices.

First up, we have Ariane, looking like a real life version of Jessica Rabbit. Sexy, flirty and secure in herself. She is our top pick in her custom made, 1 of a kind ensemble.
Second, we have Mimi in her orange, McQueen gown and gold accessories. She kept it simple and sweet and allowed her gown to be the focus point.
Third up is Dj Traci Steele. She kepit it simple and demure yet still managed to pull off some level of sensuality. Yes.
Fourth on this list is the one and only, Miss Erica Dixon. She was perfectly put together from the shoes to the make up but the sexiest thing she rocked at the reunion is her new found confidence. Love it.
 5. Lastly we have Shay Johnson. The season 1 reunion was not a good look for Shay and she redeemed herself this year. She played it safe and it actually worked for her. Go 'head girl.
